About the department
Ganey Tikva's social services respond to the different needs of the local population and are available to everyone, regardless of age, gender and economic status.
The services include services for the elderly and their families, and individual and family welfare services in a variety of fields. These include early childhood, children, a family and marriage counseling center, and services for people with special needs.
The department's services are divided into mandatory services and elective services:
Mandatory services are based on Israeli law.
Elective services are partly based on Ministry of Social Affairs' regulations and partly on Ganey Tikva Local Council policy. Elective services are provided according to need and budgetary constraints.
Priorities for the treatment of families are determined according to the severity of problems and the degree of risk posed to the individual or the family.
Material assistance is provided according to need and is subject to financial eligibility tests, according to the guidelines and regulations of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
Various types of assistance require the financial participation of families.
